Question of the day, question 1. When was the last time you tried something new?

Over a year ago in 2016, I started my own writing project: “Question of the day”.

It had been unpublished and gathering dust. It’s time to revisit and revive this! Here’s my first entry from September 2016:

9/5/16: The exact day and year is unknown, and probably not as important, but what I can say is this: I recall feeling tired of feeling trapped, tired and lost. I was alone, insecure and frustrated for so long. I realized that I had brought all of these things onto myself. After all, I am the authors of my own life story and I am responsible for how my life unfolds.

cat2I was always isolating and distancing myself from what I always–deep down inside– always wanted and idealized. I was full of fear and insecurity with no hope for support, acceptance, love or help…I was afraid of criticism and judgment from those who I really respected and cared about…So I hid and ran away

But it was time to shift my focus. Each day, I try my best to focus on the good. To find joy in gratitude and choose love, not judgment, fear, conflict and insecurity. It’s always a challenge, but I am grateful for every piece of enlightenment and opportunity to do my best right from my heart. Naturally.Even if my efforts or state of

Even if my efforts or state of being makes no sense, remains unknown or is unseen by anyone else but me…Enough of the fear, negativity, conflict and pain…At the end of the day, I take ownership of my own thoughts, feelings and consciousness. Doing the right thing (whatever that means to me) is the point of it all.

Feelings of being stuck, unloved, misunderstood, forgotten, incapable, fearful and hopelessness have bombarded me

I realized this is not the real me. I am actually vibrant, creative, confident, ambitious and loving.

14. How nice you are to yourself in your head.

23. Whether or not you plan for the weather.
24. How much time you spend trying to convince people you’re right.

26. How many negative articles you read.
27. The attention you give to your loved ones when you see them.
28. How much you enjoy the things you have right now.
29. Whether or not you communicate something that’s on your mind.
30. How clean or uncluttered you keep your space.
31. What books you read.
32. How well you network at social events.
33. How deeply you breathe when you experience stress.
34. How many times you admit you don’t know something—and then learn something new.
35. How often you use your influence to help people instead of focusing on building your influence.
36. When you ask for help.
37. Which commitments you keep and cancel.
38. How many risks you take.
39. How creative/innovative you are in your thinking.
40. How clear you are when you explain your thoughts.
41. Whether you formulate a new plan or act on your existing one.
42. How much information you get before you make a decision.
43. How much information you share with people.
44. Whether you smoke or drink (unless you’re an alcoholic, in which case I am not qualified to offer you advice).
45. Whether or not you judge other people.
46. Whether you smell good or bad (unless you have some strange resistance to soap and deodorant).
47. How much of what other people say you believe.
48. How quickly you try again after you fall.
49. How many times you say “I love you.”
50. How much rest you get at night.

In life, we always have a choice. Yes, we always have a choice in how we think and what we feel.


In any day, the same 24 hours will pass, and yes, we are human with emotions, day-to-day obligations, moments of worry, times of peace, flashes of fear & precious fragments of simple joy…but please remind yourself that you always have the opportunity to remind yourself to consider a little shift in your outlook when things seem incongruent.

Make that shift in your outlook a shift towards whatever works for you and consider what could bring you assurance, hope and motivation to keep you moving forward.

There is no template or “right way” to anything . Do what makes sense for you with a mindful spirit to remember this: Focus on what can bring you good things…More potential for long-term peace, stability and room for further growth.

We are each unique with our own individual past, present and future. Each stage and potential is good, necessary and the path YOU were meant to take.

Remember that not one damn thing that happened in your journey was unnecessary or a mistake. Each and every experience was meant to be and each and every new thing yet to happen will always be for your good. If you disagree, remind yourself to see the silver lining in them. There is always something to smile about, even if you realize it later… But to circle back, it is your choice to see it that way this day or not.

I say, see it with peace + light. Every day, it’s yours and anything you choose.


energy is natural, so listen to what feels right for you first.

Listen to what feels right when you stop over-thinking things. Do and trust in what just feels right for you, not what you think others will approve of. It is then you can live a life harmoniously with yourself and with those whom you love and have respect for.

As my yoga teacher says over again, “If they mind, then they don’t matter…If they matter, they don’t mind!”

This applies towards how your loved ones perceive you as you are. Do they “mind” how you act, speak and do things– today.. and even from your past? What do they think? Well, read the quote again…”If they mind, then they don’t matter…If they matter, they don’t mind!”

At the end of the day, the most valuable gift is acceptance. No judgement. Just acceptance + compassion.


It’s 93 degrees out. Ice-cold Kombucha is in!

August always seems to be the hottest month of Summer, and this weekend marked one of NYC’s hottest day of summer (Saturday, August 13th!)

I stepped into my neighborhood’s cute little shop, Cortelyou Craft Beer for an ice-cold Kombucha. The nice thing is, it’s on-tap so it’s very fresh and well, kind of fun to pour it in your glass beer-style.


I filled a glass bottle with half Ginger and half Turmeric– and it was the perfect combo. It definitely hit the spot and I got my gut-healthy enzymes, probiotics and antioxidants from this really tasty and fun, fizzy treat.
